Our life up til now

Wow I guess it has been a really long time since I have been on here. I guess I will just start where I left off. After Christmas we spent the next few months getting ready for the Addie. She was born on March 25 at 6:12 pm and weighed 6lbs 10 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long. Everything went really well and we were discharged from the hospital the next day. When we brought her to the 2 day check up, the doctor noticed a lot of bruising and pooling of blood and she was also very jaundice. She and I checked back into the hospital and they let me room with her while they figured out what was going on and she "tanned" under the blue lights. After running quite a few blood tests they found that she had neonatal alloimmune thrombocytopenia, which for those of us that don't speak doctor means low platelets. It was a very stressful week, to say the least, and we thought that she was going to have to have a transfusion. Luckily she is a strong little girl and we were able to go home 5 days later. My mom was able to stay for 2 weeks, so she was here to take care of Joey while Addie and I were in the hospital. I am so thankful that she was here because I truly have no idea what I would have done without her. So after having to be extremely careful with her for the first few months, I am so happy to say that her platelet levels went back up and they have stayed that way!

Joey is loving being a big brother and he always says things like, "I love her so much" or "Can I hold her?". He is also a huge help to me and always helps me give his baby sister a bath or shares his toys with her. Joey played soccer this spring and he loved it! Joe and I loved going to his games and watching all of the kids just run around in a big group. It was probably the cutest and funniest thing I have ever seen.

Joe and I celebrated our 4th anniversary on the 16th of June. I can't believe it has been 4 years already! Joe has been pretty busy at work and has been traveling a lot lately. I am loving being at home with the kids and thoroughly enjoying having a baby in the house again. As I know from Joey, it goes by way too fast :) I think that pretty much sums everything up and I will try not to be so long in between posts next time lol.
